What exactly are dentures?
Dentures are a removable prosthesis that replaces missing teeth and molars. The dentures rest on the gums and jawbone and are fully adapted to the shape of your mouth. Modern dentures look natural and feel much more comfortable than in the past.

When are dentures needed?
Dentures may be needed when several teeth or molars are missing and fixed solutions are not (or no longer) possible or desirable. This can be the result of tooth loss due to decay, gum problems or wear.
New dentures or an adjustment may also be needed when existing dentures no longer fit properly or cause complaints. Our dentists carefully assess your situation and discuss with you which solution suits you best.
Types of dentures: which are there?

Costs and reimbursement of dentures?
The cost of dentures depends on the type of prosthesis and your personal situation. In many cases a (large) part of the costs is reimbursed by the basic health insurance, depending on medical necessity and your insurance.

Aftercare and maintenance of your dentures
Well-maintained dentures last longer and stay comfortable. We advise you to clean your dentures daily, take them out at night and come for regular check-ups.
Over time the jaw can change, which may cause the dentures to become looser. In that case we can adjust the dentures or make new ones.
