Solutions for crooked teeth
We check the health of your teeth: many or few fillings and whether or not crowns/bridges are present. We also look at, for example, the amount of plaque and bleeding of the gums. Based on this information, together with you we can offer the following options.
Incidentally, it is extremely important to first stop any existing disease and/or degenerative processes before we can move on to one of the options below.

01
Orthodontics
With braces we make sure crooked teeth become nicely straight again. Braces can often also make sure the upper teeth are properly positioned relative to the lower teeth. This treatment naturally requires time and patience from you, but it is the least harmful for the teeth, because the teeth and molars are only moved.

02
Veneers
An option many people know about from social media is veneers, also called facings, because (usually) only the front of the tooth is ground down. The dentist and patient can then choose between two options:
- After grinding, we make the veneers directly in the mouth using a tooth-coloured material (composite).
- After grinding, we take an impression of the teeth and a dental technician makes the veneers outside the mouth from composite or porcelain.
We can tell you which suits you best. A porcelain veneer often lasts the longest.

03
Follow-up appointment
If the teeth have already been extensively restored, we can choose together to make crowns. About 2 mm is removed from all sides of the tooth and the dental technician can make a crown. By grinding slightly more from one tooth and slightly less from another, we can achieve a change in position. Again, this is only possible if the teeth are not too crooked relative to each other. Often a combination of the above options is chosen. Together with you, we can draw up a tailor-made plan.

Important to know about veneers
Please note: for crooked teeth, veneers are often only advisable if the teeth are not too crooked relative to each other. Grinding the teeth too much poses risks to the nerve of the tooth. The nerve does not like this and may die, after which root canal treatment is needed for the tooth to function properly again without complaints.
